AI literacy

AI literacy for all your teaching staff.

Art. 4 of the EU AI Act requires organisations that use AI to ensure, to their best extent, a sufficient level of AI literacy among their staff. We help your school put this into practice.

  • Training & webinars

Hands-on training for your teaching staff and free webinars for beginners. Teachers learn to use AI sensibly and to review results critically.

  • Clear rules & governance

Define roles, approved models and retention periods centrally. Everyone knows who uses AI for what and how data is handled.

  • Personal rollout support

Dedicated contacts guide the rollout, from a pilot group to all your staff. Plus templates in the prompt library for typical school tasks.

Data protection

School data stays protected.

Data about students and parents doesn't belong in private AI accounts. innoGPT gives your school a secure, consistent standard and turns shadow AI into controlled, measurable usage.

  • Hosted in Frankfurt & ISO 27001

The platform is hosted in Frankfurt and ISO 27001 certified. One central access for your staff instead of scattered individual accounts.

  • DPA under Art. 28 GDPR

Data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR including technical and organisational measures. You set retention periods yourself. We provide the documents to your data protection officer or school authority.

  • No model training

Your school's inputs, documents and files are never used to train AI models.

  • Roles & SSO for staff and administration

Sign-in via SAML SSO and role-based permissions: you decide who uses which models, assistants and knowledge sources.

AI for schools: relief for teachers and school administration

Teachers spend a lot of time on tasks beyond teaching: preparing materials, marking texts, writing letters to parents, documenting meetings. AI for schools can provide relief exactly here, as long as it is introduced securely. For school leaders and school authorities this is less about technology and more about clear rules, understandable tools and staff who know what AI can and cannot do.

  1. 01

AI for teachers: where it really helps in everyday school life

AI is strong wherever a lot of text is produced: structuring lessons, creating worksheets at several levels, turning tasks into plain language, preparing feedback on anonymised student writing or drafting letters to parents. It summarises long documents and searches your own materials such as the school policy. Educational responsibility stays with teachers. AI delivers drafts, people review and decide.

  2. 02

AI in school and data protection: why a shared standard is safer

At many schools individual teachers already use AI, often with private accounts and without rules for student data. Bans alone rarely solve this, because the need remains. An officially approved access is safer: one platform with all relevant models, hosting in Frankfurt, a DPA under Art. 28 GDPR and no training on your data. Shadow AI becomes controlled and measurable use of AI by your staff.

  3. 03

Introducing AI in schools: rollout and AI literacy

Since February 2025, Art. 4 of the EU AI Act has required organisations that use AI to ensure, to their best extent, sufficient AI literacy among their staff. A good starting point is a pilot group with concrete use cases, supported by short training sessions and clear governance rules. innoGPT accompanies this path personally, from the first demo through webinars to a rollout across the whole school or several schools of one school authority.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions on AI in schools.

Can teachers use AI in a GDPR-compliant way?
Yes, if the framework is right. What matters is an officially approved access, a DPA under Art. 28 GDPR and clear rules for personal data. innoGPT is hosted in Frankfurt, ISO 27001 certified and never uses your data for training. Many tasks such as lesson planning or letters to parents need no personal student data at all. Additional requirements depend on the school data protection rules of your state.
Who decides on the rollout: the school or the school authority?
This varies by state and type of school. Often the head teacher decides on the educational use, while the school authority is responsible for IT and contracts. We recommend involving the school leadership, data protection officer and school authority together early on. We provide the documents needed for this.
Can students use innoGPT?
innoGPT is designed for teachers, school leadership and school administration. Whether and how students use AI is decided by your school in line with the rules of your state. Feel free to contact us if you have questions about this.
Can we include our own materials and school rules?
Yes. School policies, the school development plan, marking criteria and teaching materials can be bundled in a knowledge base. On that basis you create custom AI assistants, for example for letters to parents or for differentiating worksheets. Roles define who accesses which content.
How do we introduce AI at our school?
We recommend a step-by-step approach: start with a pilot group of interested teachers and clear use cases, add a training session for staff and governance settings for roles, models and retention periods. Then roll out to the whole school. We guide every step personally. To try it out there is a 7-day trial without payment details.

Note: this page provides general information on AI usage in schools. It does not replace legal advice for your individual case. The school laws and data protection rules of your state also apply to student data and should be assessed beforehand.
